Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Some of Fargo-Moorhead's dedicated volunteers are being honored today.

The YMCA's 60-AmeriCorps members were recognized for mentoring 95-children and helping them with school work this past year.

The AmeriCorp also helped facilitate 11-thousand hours of family visits to the Exer-Zone. A place where parents and their children can work out together. Parents whose children have special needs, and are mentored, talked about the impact of AmeriCorps.

Kristen Frank, mom of student, says, "please know that what you are doing is changing lives and it is making our life so much better and thank you for everything you do and know that you are making a difference."

The Americorps members also helped recruit 323 volunteers for 28-hundred hours of service in the metro area this past year.
