Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- One month, that's how much time you have left to file your taxes.
If you been dreading the paperwork and the filing, technology and your smartphone can help...there's an app for that.
Their slogan says it all - Start your taxes with a snap! The snap of a picture that is.
If you use the 1040 EZ form, you can ditch your shoebox full of receipts and papers for the Turbotax Snaptax App. It's free to download and can help you get your taxes done in as little as 10 minutes.
You start by snapping a photo of your W-2. The app then automatically transfers all of the numbers from the picture into all of the right places on your tax forms. You can enter the number manually if you want.
Snap tax then asks you questions to help guide you to what they guarantee will be your maximum refund. You can check out a preview of your complete return right on your phone - all of your personal information is encrypted to keep it safe.
Then it's as simple as setting up direct deposit - and for $24.99 you can efile both your federal and state taxes straight from the app. Some people have gotten their refund within a week.
But snaptax isn't for everyone, you can't own a home, you can only have W-2, interest, or unemployment income and must have earned less than $100-thousand dollars in 2012 - $120-thousand if you're married
The turbotax snap tax app is available in both the google play and apple markets. Again it's free to download, but will cost you to file.
