Wahpeton, ND (WDAY TV) -- It's the day most people can only dream of: winning at powerball. That's the reality of someone in our area.

Someone in the Wahpeton area is walking around $1 million richer today, all thanks to a winning Powerball Ticket sold at a local convenience store.

Beth Terfehr - Store Clerk: "We've got a pretty good group of people that come in and buys their rickets every week."

Beth Terfehr, store clerk at the Cenex station along Highway 210, got the call around 8 this morning from the lottery telling her that her store sold a winning ticket. Right away the store put up flyers to announce the good news.

Beth Terfehr: "They come in and they're like, 'Was it me, was it me?' and you know they run their ticket and it's like, 'No i'm sorry, not today.'"

The winning ticket had the five white numbers. Terfehr is happy for whoever is the lucky ticket holder, but hopes it's a local.

Beth Terfehr: "Because they come in, and they are so faithful about coming in and buying. We would just like to see somebody get it that we know, and that would be awesome."

The winner hasn't come forward yet, maybe because they're still pinching themselves.

There were other $1 million winners. Those tickets sold in Kentucky, Florida, and New Hampshire.
