(WDAY TV) -- The Diversion Authority says the message isn't getting through.

After hours of testimony, plus facts and figures members claim legislators don't seem to grasp the idea of the F-M diversion. Leaders have been working on the project for more than four years and say there are a lot of details to sort through.

But now, is the time to stress the importance to win the federal funding. With out it, the Clay County commissioner is afraid the valley could see flooding similar to previous years.

Kevin Campbell, Clay County Commissioner, says, "There were lives lost their were elderly people that had to move out of their assisted living places, wherever they may be. And all of those people, we don't want to ever see that happen again. And quite frankly see something even worse happen that actually did."

On a positive note, the diversion authority says they have seen positive reactions from numerous North Dakota senators.
