Moorhead cat is a popular Facebook Star

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- A Moorhead cat that nearly died a year ago, not only recovered, but it has become famous.

Corky, the domestic short hair, was born with deformed legs that were backward and crossed. He was found dragging himself down Main Avenue.

After a stay in the pound, it appeared he would be euthanized. But the Cats Cradle Shelter rescued Corky and got the needed surgery to save him. Today, he is a popular Facebook Star and even has graced the cover of Modern Cat.

Gail Ventzke, Corky's mother, says, "pretty amazing. He has his own facebook page. 18000 fans, all over the world we got donations from all over the world for his surgery it pretty amazing."

Cats Cradle Shelter is marking its one year anniversary with a "Rock the Cradle Benefit", March 28th in Moorhead.
