Mayor Walaker has taken his annual trip to the Southern Red River Valley, checking out snow pack and river flow. This time, deputy mayor Tim Mahoney went with.
Mayor Walaker is predicting a crest of 32-feet. For more than 20 years, Walaker has toured the southern Valley to gauge how much water the north-flowing river will eventually try to cram through Fargo-Moorhead.
His best work? 2009. He predicted 41-feet. The national weather service said 42-feet. The river eventually crested at 40-point-84 feet.
