Dilworth, MN (WDAY TV) -- A group of area students raised a hefty sum of money for a group of rescued dogs.

DGF Middle School Student Council spent the month of February raising one thousand dollars, to donate to "4 Luv of Dog Rescue".

Twenty student council members helped fund raise, selling "Crush" soda the week of Valentine's, pizza and tickets to a school dance. Volunteers with the organization say the money will go towards many uses including items on their wish list.

Karen Schneider with 4 Luv of Dog Rescue says, "Since we opened the facility we also have an area that would need to be pee-rocked due to a mud situation in the Spring. We'd also like to get a washer and dryer so we can do the bedding for the dogs right at the facility instead of taking it home."

The non-profit organization gives furry-four legged pups a place to call home. More than 100 people volunteer their time with the dogs.
