Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Bison fans who couldn't make the trek to Sioux Falls are making noise in Fargo, hoping to cheer their team all the way to Big Dance. As NDSU's men's basketball team battles South Dakota State, people are packing into bars downtown.

Right now the bar is filled and the drinks are flowing as time winds down in the matchup between the Bison and Jackrabbits. In this game, winner takes all - including a Summit League title and a trip to the NCAA tournament. Fans tell me no matter the outcome, part of the fun is the experience.

Tyler Swenson – NDSU Sophomore: "I'm here to watch NDSU kick some Jackrabbit butt."

Ron Johnson - Fan: "Basically watch the Bison hopefully make another trip to the big dance."

Bison fans are getting loud at Sports Zone, flashing their green and gold.

Tyler Swenson: "Well it's a great matchup, a big rivalry."

Ron Johnson: "Border rivals, so to speak."

Both sides fighting to end their seasons on the grand stage, but only one winner advancing to the NCAA tournament.

Ron Johnson: "I went to school there, so I’ve gone to quite a few games over the years. Been a fan ever since I was a little kid too, so follow them over the years."

Fans are ready to break out their brackets for the big dance, hoping NDSU secures a spot.

Tyler Swenson: "Can't help but hope that the Jackrabbits lose."

....And saying if they can't be courtside in Sioux Falls, they'll scream a little louder here at home.

Ron Johnson: "Would like to have gone to the men's game. They played kind of late, otherwise I would've gone down."

Tyler Swenson: "The atmosphere. Feel more one with the game I guess, a little more commotion, get my emotions going."
