Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- After surviving a near fatal car accident, a man is traveling across North Dakota spreading the message that safe driving saves lives.

Tyler Presnell is leading safe driving presentations all across the country. Today at Oak Grove High School in Fargo.

Presnell was in a severe car crash when he was 14. An accident that nearly took his life and damaged MOST of his short term memory. While Tyler battles the after effects of his brain injury, he tries to inspire young drivers to do the right thing behind the wheel.

Presnell says, "I was that young kid who thought seatbelts were uncool. I tried hanging out with older people, I don't know. I don't know what would've happened. I wouldn't be where I am at right now. I probably wouldn't love life as much as I do now. I wouldn't have tasted as much pain as I have and probably wouldn't have made me appreciate the brighter side."

So far this year, three teens have already died on North Dakota roads.
