Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- He's an NBA champion, reality tv star and recently back in the national spotlight after a highly covered trip to North Korea. And in the middle of all of that somehow Dennis Rodman finds himself in Fargo.
Rodman is here to host the Liquid Ice Girls competition at JT Cigarro, and if it's anything like the interview we had, it should be quite a show.
Rodman is known for his big and often eccentric personality.
"Wow! Wow! Really go there! Wow!"
So, it was no surprise when the former NBA star showed up to our interview wearing a hotel bathrobe and purple scarf.
Barrett Prody/JT Cigarro's Owner: "Dennis is an entertainer, you host events out in in Vegas, and South Beach…"
JT Cigarro's owner, Barrett Prody, brought him here.
Rodman: "Out of his way to do one thing: brought me to North Dakota. *Laughs* Out of the blue, right? Out of the blue!"
Lately, the national media has dubbed Rodman as the Unites States' leading diplomat in North Korea, after a trip to visit Kim Jong Un.
Upon returning, he was barraged with questions about spending time with the dictator and the threats Kim has made against the US…
But he brushes off those questions and criticisms.
Rodman: "It wasn't about that. The one thing people don't understand, I went there to do a documentary, and the thing is - it became that."
Rodman is busy these days, he returned on this season of the Celebrity Apprentice, has a new book coming out, and is filming a documentary on his own life. But when asked what he is most excited about, he came up with a more down-to-earth answer.
Rodman: "Seeing my kids. That's the most exciting thing for me, to see my kids again."
People working out at the downtown YMCA had quite the shock when Rodman showed up for a quick workout this afternoon.
