MOORHEAD – Police here have identified the suspected shooter in Wednesday’s shooting that left two men in custody and the victim hospitalized – an incident police suspect was an attempted drug heist.
Lt. Brad Penas said Samuel “Philly” Bullock Jr., 25, is wanted in connection with the shooting Wednesday afternoon at 1107 17th St. S. in Moorhead.
Court records claim Bullock shot Anthony Sands in the stomach with a rifle Wednesday afternoon at Sands’ home after coming there to buy marijuana, telling Sands he was going to rob him but then running away after the shooting.
Police have earlier said they seized 2.2 pounds of pot and $11,000 in cash from the south Moorhead home. Sands was taken to Sanford Health with injuries to his stomach and arm. His condition is unknown.
Penas said police believe Bullock is in the Fargo-Moorhead area, and they’re asking anyone who might know where to call police dispatch at (701) 451-7660.
Court records state Bullock “is considered armed and dangerous.”
Michael Andrew Crittenden, 23, Moorhead, was charged today in Clay County District Court with aiding and abetting first-degree attempted murder and first-degree robbery. He told police he arranged the meeting with Sands and went inside the home while a third man, Tyshawn Darden of Fargo, waited in a vehicle outside, court records allege.
Crittenden and Darden were arrested Thursday.
Darden is jailed in Cass County on suspicion of attempted murder, and Crittenden is being held in the Clay County Jail.
