West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Extra police at Freedom Elementary School in West Fargo.

Three police officers patrolled around the school, and one officer was in the building at all times as a precaution.

The school was put on lockdown yesterday afternoon after receiving three threatening phone calls. The principal says the students are used to seeing police officers through DARE and other programs.

Dr. Jeff Johnson, Freedom Principal: "And then to also explain to the kids why the police are there. That's the main key, so they understand so they aren't scared or nervous. They're here to help us, they're here to check on things, they're here to just walk around."
