FARGO – Police conducted a SWAT raid on an apartment in the 2900 block of Seventh Avenue North here in connection with Wednesday afternoon’s shooting in Moorhead.
Fargo police Lt. Joel Vettel said no one has been placed under arrest yet, but one person was taken into custody as police executed a search warrant at the apartment.
Vettel would not say what evidence the search warrant was meant to uncover, but he did say it would take several hours.
Vettel also would not talk about the second person wanted in connection with Wednesday’s shooting, which sent the victim to the hospital with at least two gunshot wounds.
The victim, identified by WDAY-TV as Anthony Sands, a former MSUM lineman, reported being shot as he was being driven to the hospital by a friend. Vettel said any comments about the ongoing investigation would come from Moorhead police later in the day.
