Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The national spotlight will once again be shone on the Bison football team. After getting two national TV games to end last season, they'll be back on the big stage to start 2013.

Kansas State announced its season opener against NDSU has moved to Friday August 30th and will be seen on the new FOX Sports One (the former Speed Channel). It's now a 7:30 kickoff against the Wildcats, who finished last season at 11-2 and ranked 12th, losing to Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl.

Gene Taylor – NDSU Athletic Director: “For one thing, FOX will spend a lot of time promoting the game because it’s a new channel for them. I hear it’s in 90 million homes, and we’re playing a team that's fairly highly ranked coming into the season – probably not as high as they ended up this year because they lose some players, Bill Snyder is a well-known coach. It’s a great program, very successful. A lot of that is a benefit playing against them and a national audience is a huge deal for us.”

This will be the first season opening game on a weeknight for NDSU since 2009. That was at Iowa State.
