Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - Over 200 students who originally applied and accepted into MSU Moorhead received letters over the last few days saying they were no longer accepted into school.

Athletic Director Doug Peters told us earlier today that at least 5 applicants were future Dragon student-athletes, and it could be more. Peters says he's been in touch with those who have been affected.

Doug Peters – MSUM Athletic Director: “I've been in on the conversations since the beginning and it has impacted athletics. There’s no doubt about that. We're able to outline, here’s what the problem is and here's the solution. We’ve had conversation about what went wrong and what we need to do to fix it. Fortunately, the student athletes we were dealing with are excited to be Dragons. We were their first choice, and so it wasn’t as painful as it could have been. It was still painful, but not as bad as it could have been.”

The prospective students will be allowed into school, but will need to fulfill certain requirements.
