Local wrestlers compete for a state title in St. Paul

St. Paul, MN (WDAY TV) -- Big night in St. Paul, as a handful of area wrestlers had a shot at a state title.

St. Paul, MN (WDAY TV) -- Big night in St. Paul, as a handful of area wrestlers had a shot at a state title.

We start in 3-A at 195 pounds, Moorhead's Chase Morlock, the future Bison football player gets the escape point on Lakeville South's Tommy Peterson to tie it up at 2-all.

But, in the final period, Peterson, the future Bison wrestler, gets his escape point to take the lead, he would hold on for the 3-2 win.

At 152 in Class A, Mahnomen's Garrett Hoffner grabs the leg of Zachary Carlson of KMS, and keeps working on him until he gets the take down, Hoffner goes onto win it, 6-5. He was also a state football champion this year.
