Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- A sweet staple in Moorhead is back, giving people an early taste of summer.

It's opening day for Moorhead's Dairy Queen. Even with snow on the ground, once windows go up on at red and white hot spot crowds start rolling in.

Dairy Queen first opened back in 1949 offering some of the tastiest sweets in town and some frozen fun.

During the lunch rush, long lines filled with people looking for a bite to eat and the hope that summer is just around the corner.
