Dilworth man is held on a $1 million cash bail for murder

Ada, MN (WDAY TV) -- A Dilworth man accused of murdering a 22-month old girl in Ada is being held on 1 million dollars cash bail.

24-year-old Raul Perez appeared in Norman County court for the first time this morning. He pleaded not guilty to second degree murder charges in the August death of his ex-girlfriend's daughter.

Police say he was watching the girl, Ariel Reyes, while her mother was out. The baby died two days later from fatal head injuries.

Stephen Hager, Ada Police Officer: "From what I understand, from the medical examiner's report, is that the child had died from head trauma which caused a neck injury, which allowed for respiration to stop."
