Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - F-M leaders are teaming up to support the Flood Diversion Project as lawmakers make moves to limit support.
Chamber of Commerce President Craig Whitney and others are pushing for permanent flood protection. The task force plans to ask that restrictions be removed so the project can move forward. They are also committed to keeping the issue as a priority with lawmakers.
Craig Whitney, Chamber of Commerce: "We know that the federal government hasn't closed the book on this. We know it's a tall order, but they haven't closed the book on it and nor should the people of this region. So, we are going to fight very hard for it."
The task force will meet March 6th to address the project's funding status.
