Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Fargo's Park District is broadening its view on what it considers a family.
This morning, park officials showed overwhelming support for a proposal allowing same-sex couples to qualify as a family. Gays, lesbians and even single-parent families would be able to purchase a season-pass to a Fargo public golf course.
Before, the park only considered families who could jointly-file their tax returns.
Roger Gress with the Fargo Park District says, "our job is recreation. And our job is to get everybody involved. And we are not the police for this, or we're not the police for that, or we're not the police for this."
The park board will revisit the issue during a meeting scheduled for March 12th.
