Minnesota bill would increase school drop-out age

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - One in 20 Minnesota students drops out of school before graduation. A Minnesota representative has introduced a bill that would raise the dropout age from 16 to 18.

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - One in 20 Minnesota students drops out of school before graduation. A Minnesota representative has introduced a bill that would raise the dropout age from 16 to 18.

He says some of the next generation's talent is going to waste. Lynne Kovash, Superintendent for Moorhead schools, says to make that work they would need additional funding for things like counseling.

Kovash says last year, about 24 students dropped out of Moorhead schools.
