Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A closer look is emerging today of the FM Flood Diversion Project in jeopardy from an amendment introduced by Fargo's Al Carlson. Money approved for flood control projects wouldn't be allowed to be spent on flood buyouts, or put towards ring dikes or water retention structures.

Fargo Mayor Dennis Walaker says he would like to know what can be spent.

Mayor Dennis Walaker – Fargo: "It not only reduces the state funding, from $450 million to $325 million. That's a big hit."

Mayor Walaker explains it is too early in the system to start cutting the project so drastically.
