Valley City, ND (WDAY TV) - If you're looking for a fixer-upper, a home in Valley City known as the Pink Flamingo is looking for you.

The pink duplex will be torn down if it is not purchased and moved by the end of March The home was built in 1900, but may only have a month left standing.

It is one of Valley City's buyout homes for permanent flood protection. The duplex requires a lot of work, but people trying to save it say it’s one of a kind.

Kara Kramin, Trying to Save Historic Home: “There's details you can't get anymore. There's a lot of people that think you should be saving the big, fancy houses. We've got 3 or 4 of them in town and they say, 'Oh we've got those three why do we need to keep any others?' but normal people didn't live in them.”

The city is willing to sell it for a cheap price to avoid tear down costs.
