Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- We're learning more about the 3 Red River students who were caught wearing Ku Klux Klan-style outfits during the state hockey tournament.

Pictures of the 3 spread like wildfire on social media, after the semi final game against Davies High School. Here's one of the images that kept being re-tweeted on twitter last night.

Red River's principal would not go on camera today but did release a statement. He says the 3 students who took part - entered the Ralph wearing all white like the rest of the student section, but put the "inappropriate attire" on right after Red River scored its first goal.

The letter states they wore the outfits for less than a minute, because other students told them how offensive it was. The letter also says students and their parents have been contacted, and appropriate action is being taken -- but it doesn't ever say what that action will be.
