Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Trying to pinpoint the reason one person may fire a gun at another is a daunting task.

Finding a solution is even more elusive. Today, Congressman Kevin Cramer and a panel discussed gun violence in our culture.

The panel included law enforcement, mental health professionals, educators, and clergymen. They brought culture, mental health, and family dynamics into the discussion.

Rep. Kevin Cramer says, "By and large I don't see a great legislative agenda that solves this problem, certainly not the cultural problems. Having said that, could we do more? Could we provide more resources, background checks, ensuring that the right people have guns and the wrong people do not."

Cramer says he doesn't see much support for banning military-style rifles, but sees some common ground in the push for universal background checks.
