Monster storm hits the Midwest

(WDAY TV) -- From the Great Lakes to the Gulf Coast millions of Americans are in the clutches of winter's icy grip
The monster snowmaker is marching eastward after dumping a foot and a half of snow in Kansas yesterday. it is now moving into the upper Midwest. The National Weather Service forecasts 6 to 12 inches of snow in Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine Saturday night and Sunday.
In Chicago they got the most snowfall of the season so far.
A messy combination of wind, ice and thunder snow is causing travel headaches for one out of 5 Americans. Roads are treacherous and many flights, cancelled. In the south the storm spawned some tornadoes. A 74-year-old Texas woman was killed when a tree fell on her mobile home.
