Changes will make option for free all-day kindergarten in Fergus Falls

Fergus Falls, MN (WDAY TV) - Fergus Falls parents will soon have the option of sending their kids to all day kindergarten at no cost.

Right now it’s almost $200 to keep your kids in school all day. Those fees rake in nearly $75,000 for the school district. But next year, families eligible for reduced or free lunch could also see fees waved for all day kindergarten.

Jerry Ness, Fergus Falls Superintendent: "The sooner they can get into pre-schools and kindergarten, and be there every day, all day. It really makes a difference down the road."

The school board plans to review the motion February 25th, which the superintendent believes will pass.
