FARGO – Interstate 29 from Grand Forks to the Canadian border has reopened, the North Dakota Department of Transportation reported just before 8 a.m.

The city of Fargo reopened a closed stretch of 19th Avenue North from 18th Street to Dakota Drive at about 8:30 a.m., according to Fargo Public Works.

A no-travel advisory also has been lifted for areas of southeastern and east-central North Dakota. The advisory was lifted at 6:35 a.m. for Fargo, Jamestown, Valley City, Casselton, Mayville, Hillsboro and surrounding areas.

Snowplow crews are out in full force to clear roads, and the DOT asked motorists to watch for plows and don’t crowd them.

Crews worked hard on Interstate 29 north of Grand Forks to remove 4 to 6 feet of snow at underpasses and to free several vehicles stuck in snow drifts, the DOT stated in a news release.

A no-travel advisory also has been lifted for northeastern North Dakota.
