Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- 18-wheelers can handle some of the toughest driving conditions.

But with white-out conditions, many truckers left the interstates and highways for shelter. Area truck stops filled quickly this morning, after roads began shutting down.

A combination of bad roads and zero visibility forced many drivers to simply wait it out.

Trucker, Wayne Helland, says, "just wait it out, life is too precious risking yourself and risking fellow drivers too."

Truckers faced temporary shutdowns on Interstates 94 and 29 throughout the day.
