Barnesville, MN (WDAY TV) -- Treacherous road conditions and visibility so bad you couldn't see the road at times, led to a 4 vehicle, fatal pile up on I-94.

One of the vehicles involved was a MN-DOT snowplow.

Troopers say 2 people died in the accident, and another was seriously injured at the scene. How this accident unfolded, 2 miles east of Barnesville is still not clear. We do know it involved the snowplow, a semi hauling a tanker, a truck hauling a trailer with a skidstear on top and a passenger vehicle.

Sgt. Jesse Grabow with the MN State Patrol says, "that's a lot of big equipment involved in that type of crash and with this visibility and road conditions it's just a recipe for bad things to happen."

This is what conditions look like around Barnesville, around the time of that accident. Troopers haven't released which vehicle or vehicles the victims were in.
