Four NDSU students are remembered

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Family and friends are still trying to move on, one year after 4 NDSU students died in a tragic crash.

This is the scene last President's Day weekend on I-94, near Alexandria. The freshmen were from the Minneapolis-area, heading back to school.

18-year-old Lauren Peterson, Megan Sample, and Danielle Renninger, and 19-year-old Jordann Playle were killed in the three-vehicle crash. Parents say they're struggling to understand why the tragedy happened.

NDSU plans to mark the anniversary by planting four trees on campus sometime in the spring.
