Number of concealed weapons permits jumps in North Dakota

(WDAY TV) -- There's a drastic jump in the number of North Dakotans looking to carry a gun.

The number of concealed weapons permits and renewals increased 55 percent in 2012. More than 12 thousand, 600 people registered last year. That's 7 thousand more than 2011.

Deputies say people are clamoring to get licenses before they may be unable to get one.
