Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Like this morning, when drivers woke to another icy day, you may see the same conditions tomorrow morning.
Fargo Public Works says there's only so much city plowing crews can do.
People just need to slow down.
Even though the snow and ice on the road was melting just yesterday, today was a very different story. That's why people need to make sure they're driving for the conditions on that particular day.
City crews spent the morning salting and sanding the ice to get it removed.
But even with pre-treated roads, it takes time to get everything cleared off. Until the salt and sand kicks in, people need to take it slow.
Michelle Winings/Moorhead resident: "I'd been out a couple hours ago and it was really icy then. The sun's out a little bit more, it's getting a little bit better, but I'd definitely be careful."
Kent Smith/Casselton resident: "The intersections of course are the worst, they're very slippery. Main travel roads aren't so bad, of course. But intersections and residential areas seem to be where it was worst."
By mid-afternoon, the sun and salt helped the ice to melt away again. Tonight there are still icy spots as some of the snow and ice refreezes.
