Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - Clay County commissioners have approved spending $4,500 to move forward with a new Veterans Court Program.
Board members talked about the importance of dealing with chemical and criminal matters that strictly pertain to veterans. This small grant will help train those who will move forward with the program.
Grant Weyland – Clay County Commissioner: "We approved up to 45 hundred dollars but we think it's such a positive thing for our county and our veterans that the county board supported it unanimously. And we are really looking at a lot of those funds that we approved this morning are likely to be paid for by other veterans organizations, other groups that advocate for veterans."
The idea was established by district court judge Lisa Borgen.
