Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- A random act of kindness giving caretakers of a herd of rescued horses a reason to smile.

More than 150 horses were seized from a Fargo man's property in Burleigh and Morton counties last week. A six-year-old New York girl decided to donate her life savings.

One little girl, more than a hundred horses, and a donation from across the country shows kindness has no borders.

When 6-year old Madi Georgia, from Whitney Point, New York, heard about a herd of suffering horses 15-hundred miles away, in New Salem, North Dakota, she wanted to help.

Madi: "I thought it was sad."

Rachelle Frost, Madi's mother, saw an article on Facebook about more than 150 horses that were seized from owner Bill Kiefer, after law enforcement found 99 dead horses on his property.

Madi had been saving every penny she's received, hoping to eventually buy a dolphin and an elephant. But when she heard about the horses, she changed her mind.

Rachelle: "She was just more than willing to give it away for that, with just no hesitation, when I've seen her save every bit of money she's got."

Madi sent 177-dollars to Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue in Bismarck, who had taken in 25 emaciated horses.

The group's founder, Allison Smith, says they're using the money to buy blankets for each animal. Now, Madi's money and kind heart are keeping those horses warm.

Rachelle and Madi: "It has to say something, that if something like that's going on that is even that big of a deal to a six year old all the way in New York, that something has got to change. Was it worth giving up your dolphin money, do you think? 'Yes.' Do you think that was more important? 'Mmhmm.'"

Triple H says donations have come in from across the country.
