Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- It's common for folks to a have a few beverages during the game. And it's because of that, that Fargo police is ramping up patrols tomorrow.

Super Bowl Sunday actually isn't a big day for DUIs. Last year, Fargo Police made four arrests. But since alcohol is a part of many people's celebrations, they're trying to be proactive.

Extra officers will patrol the streets looking for signs of impaired driving. Nationally, half of traffic fatalities that happen on Super Bowl Sunday are DUI-related. So, police are urging everyone heading to a Super Bowl party to get a sober ride home.

Lykken: "Just plan ahead. Have a designated driver, call a cab and be prepared to wait. But usually we don't see a ton of problems."

Police say the busiest time for people coming home from parties is seven to ten PM. Kickoff is at 5:30 for the Ravens and 49ers, of course many parties will begin long before that.
