Dilworth, MN (WDAY TV) - Dilworth will keep its Police Chief and no disciplinary action will be taken after allegations of Josh Ebert being ill-equipped to handle the job.
It's the council's ruling after a closed door meeting.
To get to tonight’s "no action" decision, it took the council two hours of going through results from an investigation into Ebert's job performance.
Mayor Chad Olson wouldn't take questions but opened the meeting and read a statement.
This ruling comes after the city hired Pemberton Law firm out of Fergus Falls to investigate complaints against the Chief.
A month and a half ago all five full-time Dilowrth officers approached council with a page and a half complaint letter concerning Chief Ebert's performance.
It called out the Chief on multiple duties, to name a few leadership, accountability and ethics, but an investigation led to the city taking no action.
Mayor Chad Olson, Dilworth: “Through this process the citizens of Dilworth can rest assured that the police work done within our city will be professionally handled on a day to day basis.”
Ebert has been the police chief for about 11 months. Before Dilworth he served as chief in Pine River, Minnesota for eight years.
