New program to provide $10M for oil patch roads

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Department of Transportation is launching program that will provide funding to increase safety on county and township roads in the state's oil-producing counties.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Department of Transportation is launching program that will provide funding to increase safety on county and township roads in the state's oil-producing counties.

The program was announced Tuesday by NDDOT and Gov. Jack Dalrymple.

The program will provide up to $10 million in funding to 17 counties in the state's western oil patch.

Some of the safety measures may include upgrading signing or pavement markings, larger regulatory or warning signs, and improving road curve signs.
