Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Minnesota State troopers aren't getting much of a break in the last 24 hours. And the worst spot right now for traffic problems, is in our neck of the woods.
Plows can not keep up with what's coming down in most spots, so it'll only get worse as the night goes on.
In town, It doesn't take a lot of gas for cars to be spinning here on University and 13th avenue. The road has been a slick, slushy mess all afternoon and that wetness will keep getting harder as the night goes on.
It's outside of town where were hearing the most traffic issues, troopers say that's because people are over-driving the conditions. So far nothing serious, but it's nearly non-stop for troopers dealing with vehicles in the ditch. They say the worst section is between Moorhead and Barnesville.
This wet slushy snow is catching drivers off guard, it's the kind of stuff that'll grab your tire and rip you off the road.
Sgt. Jesse Grabow with the MN Highway Patrol says, "that's what's happening on some of these, they go out to pass and get caught up in that slushy build up area and it'll pull them right off. People want to over correct is what ends up happening if they don't panic, slow down take the time, don't pass in unnecessary situations they're not going to have a lot of these problems."
If you're going out tonight, you'll want to make sure the spout for your wiper fluid is cleared and make sure you have plenty of fluid, because this dirty slush sprays all over your windshield whether you're in or out of town.
