Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- The next time you're caught speeding, you might not get a ticket, a physical one at least.
Clay county is moving all of its ticketing information online. The "E-Charging System" allows officials to enter information electronically, which will then issue the ticket through email. The system carries the information to records, the courts and eventually the prosecutor's office.
Moorhead's Police Chief says it stops errors at the source.
David Ebinger, Moorhead Police Chief, says, "Right now, at the time of issuance of a ticket if any of the data fields are left open, this system won't accept it. So, the officer is sort of forced into proofing his own work at that point."
The new system should be up and running by the beginning of April.
