West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Firefighters had to break into a storage unit in West Fargo when a vehicle inside caught fire.
It happened at about 4:30 at M & B Storage. A malfunction in the engine, likely electrical, started the blaze.
It took firefighters about 20 minutes to knock down the flames. Other items inside, including a motorcycle, sustained some smoke damage.
Chief Roy Schatschneider, with the West Fargo Fire Dept., says, "Of course, being a weekend, everything was locked up. We had to force the overhead door in order to get inside to see what was burning, but we could tell we had a fire going. We didn't know the magnitude of it until we got in and took a look."
Firefighters were startled by a loud bang during the fire - it was an airbag going off inside the vehicle.
