Minot, ND (WDAY TV) -- Minot officials are investigating flood control projects, getting funding ideas from Grand Forks and Fargo.

Minot, ND (WDAY TV) -- Minot officials are investigating flood control projects, getting funding ideas from Grand Forks and Fargo.

The city is planning a 543 million dollar project for the Souris River, set to start construction in 2 years. It's to prevent this: when 4 thousand homes and businesses flooded in the summer of 20-11.

Officials are looking at Grand Forks' 235 million dollar project and Fargo's plan for a 1 point 8 million dollar Red River Diversion. The two cities recruited local, state, and federal funding.
