Grand Forks, ND (WDAZ TV) - People in Grand Forks are giving hope to the families of hospital patients.

Hundreds packed the Ralph Engelstad Arena today, for the Sunshine Fest.

The fundraiser is in memory of Shannon Larson, nicknamed Sunshine, who died in 2007 from a heat stroke.

It raises money for the Sunshine Hospitality Home, offering out-of-town medical patients and their families a place to stay.

Katie Langlie, Event Organizer: “The thing I'm looking forward to most today is the reveal of the house. I haven't even seen the full plans or the full video so I'm very excited for the reveal of the hospitality home.”

More information on the project may be found online at SunshineMemorial.org.
