(WDAY TV) -- Carlos, Minnesota man is in trouble with the DNR, after a good day of fishing, went bad.

69-year old Ronald Johnson of rural Alexandria was caught with nearly 250 fish over the legal limit. When the DNR initially asked Johnson "how fishing was", he said, "not that great."

He was fishing on Spitzer Lake, in SouthEastern Otter Tail County. When the DNR visited the angler's house, they found 22-half-gallon containers of frozen fish.

He had 228-sunfish alone. Johnson faces a fine, and a loss of his fishing license for a year. A 2003 law put more teeth into poaching.
