6% chance of major flooding is expected along the Red River

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Good news for those along the Red River in Fargo Moorhead.
The National Weather Service says the Red has only a 6 percent chance of reaching major flood stage this spring. Major flood stage is 30 feet. There's a 74 percent chance the river will reach minor flood stage of 18 feet.
The river is currently around 14 feet. Most of the Red River basin has near-normal snowpack, except for slightly lower than normal amounts north of Fargo to Grand Forks
