Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - An opportunity to catch a fascinating look at American History with Fargo roots.
After months of interviews and editing, the Fargo produced documentary, "The Road to Little Rock", premieres tomorrow night at the Fargo Theatre. It is free and open to the public.
The documentary follows the ground breaking decision of Fargo's own Judge Ronald Davies who played an integral role in the desegregation of the nation's schools in 1957.
Video Arts of Fargo spent the last two years, interviewing the "Little Rock Nine", as well as Supreme Court Justice Steven Breyer.
The documentary will be part of the new curriculum in Fargo schools that focuses on the Davies decision and how it impacted America.
Dr. Jeff Schatz, Fargo School Supt.: “The really interesting piece for me was the clip of Eisenhower, a rare clip and then the judge himself and Justice Breyer, superstars if you will of the times.”
South Fargo's Davies High School is named in honor of Judge Ronald Davies.
