Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The extreme cold has area homeless shelters bursting at the seams.
Homeless shelters in Fargo-Moorhead can normally house 275 people at a time. Last night, they were over that limit by 63.
Churches United even exceeded their overflow capacity, finding room to take in three extra people.
John Roberts, Director of Shelter Operations: "We have several offices and a computer lab that get changed into sleeping space overnight so people have a warm place to be on these cold nights."
Shelters opened their overflow capacity December 1st.
