Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - Myles Montplaisir was Steve Laqua's first recruit when the former Shanley coach took over at MSU Moorhead.

Montplaisir quarterbacked back-to-back Deacon teams to state titles, but his days under center are done at MSU-Moorhead. Laqua told me that Montplaisir will move full time to wide receiver next year. Montplaisir actually played some snaps at receiver this past season.

Steve Laqua – MSU-Moorhead Head Coach: “Myles is kind of making that transition to wide receiver. He did some short yardage stuff for us as the season went. I believe he'll continue to stay in that role with some short yardage package stuff. He has been tremendous with that transition, working his butt off on that. Quarterback-wise, we're thin on that. So, that's an area we need to address in recruiting.”

Laqua tells me the Dragons have 13 verbal commitments with signing day 2 weeks away.
