Sprinkler system floods Moorhead apartment building

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - Our cold weather is to blame for some flooded apartments in Moorhead.

The Moorhead Fire Department was called about to the Riverfront apartments near the Main Avenue bridge because the sprinkler system was activated. They found no fire, only several flooded apartments because a frozen sprinkler water pipe burst between the first and second floor.

Gary Larsen – Moorhead Fire Department: “Everything was right and done. It's just probably due to weather and wind and timing that they had an issue.”

Several residents told us this was the second time in a month the sprinklers have flooded apartments in the building.
