(WDAY TV) -- We've reached the fun part of the high school basketball season where the games really start to mean something...that's certainly the case tonight in Hawley, where the Nuggets host the top ranked team in the state, Pelican Rapids.

The Vikings haven't missed a beat this season despite losing their head coach; as Brad Strand went to Fergus, now Pelican faces it's toughest week to date starting tonight with one of it's blood rivals.

Devin Schell says, "It would just be interesting to see how we match up against them. We really haven't gotten a shot at them yet. Barnesville is going to be very tough on Tuesday and then we have to go to a very tough Perham gym on Friday. It's going to be a very long week and we have to come ready and I think we are."

Doug Bruggeman, Pelican Rapids head coach, says, "I think a lot of people are looking forward to this week to see when the dust or the snow settles now. Where is everybody going to be sitting. We have a great opportunity in front of us and there's a lot on the line this week."

Hawley sits 6th in the state rankings, this is a huge game in the Heart O'Lakes, plenty of highlights tonight at 10:20
